Like many of you, I love Netflix. It’s a sick and twisted addiction that usually pairs nicely with Roots sweat pants and Nutella sandwiches (that’s right .. I’m classy like that). But every so often you accidentally come across wicked documentaries like Banksy does New York and you immediately need to experience a some sort of creativity.
Not only was I lucky enough to bring up this documentary to one of Toronto’s emerging artists Stacie Marie but it also worked in my favour that she was one of the artists featured in a show at the #Hashtag Gallery that same week, which she kindly asked me to be her date for opening night.
4×4 and a little more is an amazing annual show by #Hashtag Gallery where artists can submit either 4×4 or 6×6 pieces of art. The outcome is beautiful chaos. From pop art, to photography, to wood burning and even glitter pieces, this show doesn’t fail to impress how different people interpret and create within one simple guideline; keep it tiny.
Lucky for you all, the show is on until December 20th at #Hashtag Gallery – 830 Dundas St W! Stop by and check it out .. maybe even pick up a Christmas gift or two! You will not be disappointed!
